Its been awhile but ...
Let's see, what else have we been up to. Justin and I took Bree to the play area in our neighborhood for the first time last week. I was disappointed that there wasn't a swing but we still got some cute pictures of her going down the slide, with help from daddy of course.
I guess that's about it for pictures. I've been so busy playing with her since I've got to be gone overnight again this coming week that I haven't pulled out the camera as often as I normally do. Some weeks, that's just how it is I guess...
Love you all,

Quick Post and Pictures
She loves to be outside and watch Moab and I play in the backyard. Here's a picture of her laughing at us being silly.
Hope you liked the pictures ... time to go love on my baby!

6 Month Well Check
- Weight: 16 pounds (50th percentile)
- Length: 27 1/4 inches (95th percentile)
- Head: 14 1/2 inches (50th percentile)
As for how she's doing developmentally, we checked off all the boxes. She's sitting up slightly supported, rolling from back to tummy, and bearing weight on her legs. Her hand / eye coordination is still very good and she's almost to the point of checking off a few of the 9 month objectives. Unfortunately, Dr. Karen informed us that she's now too long for her infant carrier car seat and suggested we go ahead and invest in a convertible car seat that's larger. She's still well under the weight limit for her infant carrier but with her height, she said its really not a good idea to keep her in it much longer. So, I made a trip to Babies R Us this afternoon and we're now the proud owners of a Britax Boulavard convertible seat. Thank goodness for those 15% off coupons but those things still aren't cheap. Thankfully, this one should work until she's old enough / big enough for a booster seat and normal seat belt.
To steal an idea from a fellow blogger, here's a quick list of all that's she's up to these days ...
- She's wearing a size 2 diaper and has almost outgrown all her 3-6 month clothing, except the dresses. Thankfully, those can be worn for at least another month.
- Her eyes have changed to more gray than blue and are framed by the longest eye lashes I've ever seen on a baby. They've got such a nice curl to them too .. she'll never need to try to use a lash curler if they stay this way!
- She's still breastfed (Yeah mommy!!). Here's hoping we make it through teething and all the way to a year.
- She's branched out in her culinary tastes to rice cereal, oatmeal, squash and as of today, peas.
- She wakes up at 5:30am almost every morning, talks to herself for 15 minutes and goes back to sleep till about 7:00. On work mornings though, she gets up around 6:00 and wakes up so happy. I'm always greeted with a smile when I walk in her room.
- She's fascinated by both Moab and Cleo, our puppy and cat. Every time she sees them, she gigles, laughes out loud and tries to play peek-a-boo with them.
- She's learning a handfull of Baby Signs. To date, Justin and I are regularly using Mommy, Daddy, kitty, puppy, eat, more and all gone. She's not making them back to us yet, but she definately looks from us to the kitty or puppy when we make their signs so I feel like she's starting to get it. She's definately catching on to the sign for eat!
- She's started to flirt with almost everyone she sees. She loves to hide her face, then peek around or over our shoulder and giggle.
- She loves bath time and kicks so much that I swear 1/4 of the water ends up out of the tub by the time we're done. Thank goodness she's sitting in her bath tub and its sitting in the regular bath tub. Even with that, we somehow still end up with water all over the floor.
I'm sure I could list several more things but that's all I can think of right now. I can't believe that's she's 6 months old already. Every day I thank God for my little angel baby! She's always happy ... even my dad commented on how she's a happier baby than my sister or I were at her age.
Love you all ...

Yummy Squash!

She seemed fascinated by Justin's hat so he decided to see what she'd do if we put it on her. At first, it was simply too big to do anything with.
But then, she figured out how to give it a little push so that her sweet face showed underneath. That's also when she realized Mommy had the camera out so of course, she had to pose for me. You'd think we take a lot of pictures of her or something the way she recognizes what a camera is ... no idea where she gets that idea!

She's also discovered some of her stuffed animals in her nursery. The Build-a-Bear my parents made for her and the Lambchop my Aunt Jo gave her both sit on her nightstand next to the rocker. I noticed one evening that she was staring at Lambchop so I put her in her crib with it to see what she would do. She loved it! She was hugging it, lifting it over her head and of course, trying to put it in her mouth. Her Build-a-Bear is still a little too big for her to play with. She can't quit pick it up or squeeze it but she will before too long. Justin and I still want to build her a boxer from Build-a-Bear but we've been waiting till she was old enough to play with it. I think its time to have a family outing.

And last but not least, one of her many cute outfits! She looks adorable in her little leggings and t-shirt! She had a yellow bow in her hair at one point but it didn't want to stay put. Her 6-month well check is Monday so we'll get to see how long she's gotten and how much she weighs. I can't believe my baby girl is already 6 months old. I'm sure every mom feels this way but I think she's simply amazing. I call her my little slice of Heaven and I can't believe that we've been so blessed. I love every moment with her!
Love you all,Lucretia
