Quick Update

Since I haven't updated in a few weeks, I wanted to post a few quick pictures.  I've been traveling and swamped with work meetings for the last 3 weeks so I'm really looking forward to the Thanksgiving holiday and some much needed down time.  Miss Brianna has been on the move lately, though to answer the question everyone's been asking me, no she's not crawling.  She has the great method of getting where she wants that involves rolling, sitting herself up, turning around and rolling some more.  She could crawl if she wanted to but apparently, she likes the view from either her tummy or her back, as you'll see from some of the below pictures.  There's just no way that she could have as much fun with her toys if she had to occupy her hands and feet with something as menial as crawling around on them!

Happy Girl!

Loves to push buttons!

Hmm, should I crawl to get to Daddy's jeans or not?

Nope, I'll roll to get there!

And then I'll roll back to my camera and take pictures of my feet!

All these pictures happened over the course of about 2-3 minutes so she was a very busy little girl!  Even with her not crawling, nothing on the floor is safe from her so all the trash cans are put up, the cords put away and the carpet gets vacuumed a couple times a day because she always manages to find some little something that Moab's dragged in.  She's yet to put anything gross in her mouth though I imagine its not far off.

She and Moab figured out a new game to play with me this weekend.  Moab has a soft orange bone-shaped toy that he played with when he was a puppy.  Every now and then, he drags it out of the bottom of his toy box.  This weekend, he decided that Brianna needed to be involved in our game of fetch so instead of bringing it back to me to throw, he'd drop it right in front of her.  She then would pick it up and hand it to me, and then I'd throw it across the room for him to fetch again.  (Yes mom, I washed her hands when we were done before she could put them in her mouth.)  He eventually got tired of this but it kept them both occupied for a few minutes.  They have about the same attention span so both were ready to move on to something else.  What that says about either one of them, I'm not really sure.

Anyway, that's about it for now.  Time to get back to work ...

One more video...

This isn't the best video I've ever shot but, as I found out, its hard to balance a camera on an ottoman and have the end result turn out well, particularly with a dog running around, four guys going in and out of the garage and various mechanical sounds coming out of the jeep "work session" that was in progress.  The only reason its blog-worthy is because last night was the first time I got Brianna to start "walking" to me so of course, I have to share her accomplishments!

Cheerios!

Okay, way too cute not to post the first time I offered Brianna Cheerios!  And what it didn't take her long to figure out was how to get Moab's attention....

Here's the first video

And here's the second video, shot after I could quit laughing at the silly antics of my beautiful daughter!

Cheerios are one of Moab's favorite treats, yet he never took them from her hand.  Good puppy!

9 Months Old!

Brianna's 9 months old now and it amazes me how fast its gone by.  The last 9 months have gone by so much faster than the 9 months of pregnancy.  She has her well check this past Monday and all went well.  She's 29 1/4 inches long, which puts her in the 95th percentile and she's weighing in at 18 pounds, which is the 30th percentile.  She's been running in the 50th percentile so with all the extra fun she's been having, she's slowed down a bit in her weight gain.  Overall, she's perfectly healthy and growing like a weed!

Here's a few pictures from this weekend of us playing outside.  I pulled a leaf off the tree for her to play with and she had a great deal of fun tearing it apart!

Here's a few other random pictures from this weekend.  She loves to play with Justin's hats and beanies so he often puts them on her head to see what she'll do.  The second picture is of the outfit my mom made her to keep her warm this winter.  I think we'll be saving it for next winter!  Mom's already making a smaller one for her for this winter, though if today's weather is any indication, its not going to be cold enough for quite awhile!

Halloween Parties and Mama's Helper

Of course, the post the day after Halloween would not be complete without pictures of Brianna's costume!  She got to wear it to school on Friday and then to the Gawley's annual Halloween bash on Saturday night.  Without further ado, let me introduce you to my little Flight of the Bumblebee!

I personally think she's the cutest little bug I've ever seen!  She didn't mind wearing it and seemed to get a kick out of handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters Satuday night.  Of course, Papa Smurf and Smurfette were a little confusing to her.  She couldn't seem to figure out why the heck there were blue people walking around?!?

Now that we've had a few cool mornings, we've gotten out her cute little hoodie outfits that I bought her a few months ago.  I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures of her in this one.  I love the teddy bear ears!

Today being a Sunday, that meant it was laundry day.  Brianna's never been too interested in the laundry basket but she couldn't keep her hands off it this morning.  She kept tipping it over and after a few times of setting it back up, I just let her play to see what she'd do.  Of course, she started pulling everything out of the basket, until she got to the socks at the bottom.  I have no idea what kind of thing my girl has for socks, but once she hit pay dirt in the laundry basket, she was content to sit there and play with her clean socks until I was done folding the rest of her clothes and took them away.

That covers the weekend in pictures.  We spent the afternoon helping the Parker's warm their new house and simply playing "pull up" with my fingers for as long as she wanted.  This next week's going to be a bit rough for all of us.  Brianna has her 9 month well check Monday morning and then I leave for Minneapolis and don't return till after she's gone to bed Thursday night.  Keep Justin in your thoughts this week...he's got a busy week ahead of him!
